Blue Anchor Statement 23rd March 2020

Dear Customer

These are unprecedented times. We all have a responsibility to consider not just ourselves but to the people of our country, the local community and on our parks.

Decisions are being made and actions are being taken which were unimaginable a few weeks ago.

Following the latest government guidelines, we have taken the difficult decision to close all of our parks within 48 hours of today’s date (23/03/2020). During the next 48 hours we will not be allowing people to travel to our parks and stay overnight. Anyone currently on our parks will have to leave in the next 48 hours. If you have any questions or queries in regards to this then please contact your site office.

Our customers and staff are at the forefront of any decisions we make; therefore, it is vital we consider the full impact of these trying times. As we are currently unaware of the duration of these measures implemented by the Government will last, possible refunds on ground rents will be reviewed once all the parks are re-opened.

We ask for your patience at this difficult time. Our management team and front-line staff only have access to the same information available on the government website as the general public regarding updates on COVID-19. We can assure you that we are continuously monitoring press releases.

Thank goodness for the announcements of support which have come from the Government which should help us be ready to resume business just as soon as the crisis passes. We will be making every effort to ensure all Blue Anchor staff are looked after during this period. We are continuing to speak to all our holiday customers who have bookings in the upcoming weeks to ask them to stay away and to offer alternative dates when the crisis is over.

We ask private owners on the parks NOT to stay in your holiday caravan at this time and to be sensitive towards the views and needs of our local community and the NHS. We are expecting the government to give us more guidance very shortly. We have had a clear message that holiday parks must not stay open.

The time for you to leave in a safe and orderly way is now. If there is any reason why you cannot leave, you need to contact us immediately to discuss.

We are following the Government’s guidance so closing our parks to protect you and the wider society. We hope that you can all support us during this difficult time and understand our decision. We appreciate all your efforts in adhering to the government guidelines.
